Pay no attention to the exterior. The boarded up windows and Foreclosure sign just makes it fit right in. Go around to the back alley without looking for a door. It might be pouring rain from the remnants of a Japanese typhoon, or snowing so hard you can't see the front of the alley anymore, or maybe you plunged out of blistering heat into cool, dark shadow -- and fell into a stairwell that didn't exist a moment ago. Say the password if you want. There is no door anyway.

I just realized that the 10th Anniversary of The Phantom Menace release was this past week. So, ten years ago a friend and I flew from Japan to California to catch the flick (and hit up every comic book shop and DVD joint in the Bay Area as well). The robots were far more human than the humans. Which makes sense, since they're the main characters and the ones we're supposed to identify with -- so then how seriously should we, as humanity, take the actual humans in the story?
